Time for a new type/anti-type, G.B? 2033 is the new 1975!
by The Fall Guy ina well known scripture says, "however, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with jehovah as a thousand years......." (2 peter 3:8) .
using this divine calculation of time, let's apply it to a prophetic type/anti-type scenario:.
matthew 16:21 says, ".....the christ would suffer and rise from among the dead on the third day...", while john 21:1 reveals that it was at the very beginning of that third day - "on the first day of the week, mary magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and she saw that the stone had already been taken away from the tomb.

:) Just demonstrating how anyone (the org!) can snatch out some of scriptures and get the "obedient" to swallow it down.

A well known scripture says, "However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years......." (2 Peter 3:8)
Using this divine calculation of time, let's apply it to a prophetic type/anti-type scenario:
Matthew 16:21 says, ".....the Christ would suffer and rise from among the dead on the third day...", while John 21:1 reveals that it was at the very beginning of that third day - "On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and she saw that the stone had already been taken away from the tomb."
By the end of the second day Jesus had chosen his disciples, and on the third day provided them with conclusive proof that their faith in him was totally justified - by performing his first ever miracle. (John 1 - 2:2)
At Psalm 110:1, Christ is prophetically told by God (clearly after his ascension to heaven) to sit and wait. Christ's death and resurrection occurred approximately 1,984 years ago, indicating that in roughly 16 years from now, (2033) we will reach the end of the "two days" (2000 years) and see the beginning of the "third day." At Hosea 6:2 there's this prophecy - "He will revive us after two days. On the third day he will raise us up, And we will live before him."
Why not run this conjecture up the flag-pole and see how it blows in the wind? It's not any more ridiculous than your predecessors' attempts to prophesy "the end", and you never know, it might trigger a repetition of the pre-1975 increases, namely converts, money, and pioneers! :)

The point at which you think this may not be the truth
by LevelThePlayingField ini remember one of the nights that i found out the truth wasn't the truth, that is after finding out about the united nations, i remember riding my bicycle from like 1am till 5am in the city night.
it was rather chilly, maybe about 55-60 degrees and i was playing pink floyd's dark side of the moon album in my earbuds.
just riding and riding, not really tiring because of the thought that 7 men in brooklyn had duped me, duped me for like 20 plus years.

1. Does your religious group have an elevated hierarchy?
2. Does that hierarchy claim to have been divinely selected by God to lead you?
3. Does your hierarchy require that you finance their lifestyle - rather than earning a living for themselves?
4. Does your hierarchy demand that their "understandings" must be obeyed - despite your own reasoning?
If it looks, walks, and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck. [cult]

Cart Witnesses Today - I am not impressed
by pale.emperor injust approached a cart then with two jw girls holding out mags.
they continued chatting to each other about car insurance when i took the watchtower from one of their hands.. ok, so it looks like i'll have to get the ball rolling.
i asked if they were jehovahs witness.

My understanding is that "trolley witnessing" is basically available for any regular publisher, but "special metropolitan witnessing" (km 12/13 p. 5) was reserved for certain designated ones within the congregations. Only the latter group was instructed to wear "business attire" at their trollies, if my memory serves me right. Regardless, both groups appear to have been briefed not to get into doctrinal discussions or debates, but rather, refer the person to the org's web site or even write their question/s to the Branch for answers. Modern day J.W.'s are unable to defend what they believe - so they don't even try now. Sad.

LTPF - your feelings and emotions are so true for many of us here - and around the world. The initial reason for awakening varies from person to person, but that first step has impelled most of us to search & discover conclusive proof that the WTBTS never was, and never will be, "God's earthly organization."

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain
by Listener inthe watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.
w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.
they are no longer certain on this point.

I long ago realised that if an org's "truth" was based on conjecture or supposition, then it wasn't important, and certainly not worth getting into an argument or debate about.
Did Jesus die on a cross or a stake? Does it really matter for a Christian's faith?
Are Jesus & Michael one and the same? Does it really matter for a Christian's faith ?
Will the people of Sodom & Gomorrah be resurrected? Does it really matter for a Christian's faith?
The org uses such topics to convince the faithful that their leadership has greater Bible insights than the rest of Christendom, therefore, this PROVES they have the truth.

The great tribulation is now coming VERY soon!
by The Searcher inwatchtower october 2017, par 11, page 28 - "very soon the political powers of satan’s world will form a coalition that is bent on the destruction of god’s people.
's] have anything to fear?
not at all!........at that critical moment during the great tribulation, the angelic soldiers of jehovah of armies will come together to protect god’s people..."[j.w.

Good point DOGON. The leadership knows that there is a serious loss of faith in the org's prophetic credibility - especially amongst the older J.W.'s - so the word "soon" is becoming a regular occurrence in J.W. literature and internet videos.
